  Join us in August for our 4th annual Ugly Fabric Auction with our own favorite auctioneer, Caroline Lincoln! 

  THE FABULOUS UGLY FABRIC AUCTION : BE THINKING OF THE CREATIVE WAYS YOU CAN HIDE YOUR UGLY FABRIC DONATION AND ENTICE SOMEONE TO BID ON IT AND BUY IT.  Do be thinking of some fun way to hide your fabric for the sale, (inside a beautiful cookie jar, under a gift wrapped bottle of wine, inside a quilting book or a pair of had knit mittens…or whatever). (Remember: Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  Don't go buy fabric, take from your stash). This will be our 4th annual auction.  If you haven’t been able to attend, I encourage you to be there, it’s almost too fun!  And it’s a great fundraiser for our guild.  You can then use the  fabrics purchased in the auction to create quilts or other projects to enter in our “Ugly Fabric Challenge.”  Quilts will be revealed and voted on at our January 2025 meeting.  Come join the fun! 

  Please bring cash if possible, though credit cards will also be accepted.

  This will be an In Person only meeting.  Join us at 9:00am for social time, then the meeting which begins at 9:30am. Wear a Name Tag!!

  Dawn Williams, our very own High Desert Quilt Guild’s 2024 Quilt Show’s featured quilter, will share her quilts and stories behind them. Dawn began quilting as a young mother and started quilting full time in 2014 after she retired as a legal assistant. She has been an active member of our guild taking on many roles and earned a Silver Thimble Award for all her guild work.

  This will be an In Person meeting AND on Zoom! Join us at 9:00am for social time, then the meeting which begins at 9:30am. Wear a Name Tag!!

  Members will receive the Zoom link by email for this meeting, which you can watch at the usual time if you are unable to join us in person, but we'll miss you!  

  The general business meeting will be recorded for future viewing by members on our YouTube page.

• HDQG 2024 Quilt Show

  Our third Quilt Show in beautiful Central Oregon!  Raffle Quilts , quilts for sale, Silent Auction, Country Store with holiday items and much more.  Featured quilter is Dawn Williams.

  Raffle tickets for our gorgeous "Metolious River" quilt, pattern inspired by local quilt artist June Jaeger, will be for sale - $1 each or 6 for $5.  We will also have displays by various small groups, including Barn Quilts.

  Laurel Russell: My Quilting Journey--from hand sewing to thread painting

  Laurel’s Mother said to her at the age of 5, “When you can sew a Barbie Doll dress by hand with no errors, you can use my New Singer sewing machine”. So began Laurel’s sewing journey. When she turned 19, Laurel and her grandmother began to share their mutual love for quilting, making more than 300 quilt tops! Before her grandmother’s death, Laurel promised she would quilt all those tops! Come view a sampling of the quilt tops, hear about Laurel’s journey to finish the quilts and her progression into long arm quilting and thread painting.
