Kathy Roseth from Seattle will speak on “Beautiful Geometry: The Power of Quilt Imagery in Painting”
Kathy began as a young student of the fine arts, but changed direction in the 1980’s to making traditional American quilts for the next twenty years. She was fascinated by the simple geometric designs and strong colors of Amish quilts, with her own prize-winning quilts being hand pieced and hand quilted. She is the proud winner of a First Place award at the Western Washington Fair in Puyallup for a quilt based on the Spool pattern.
In 2003 she returned to fine art, continuing her studies at the Gage Academy of Art in Seattle and participated in two ateliers to further develop her skills. Her paintings have been seen in two solo shows in 2023 and 2024. She is now a member artist and board member for Gallery 110, a nonprofit artists’ collective in Seattle.
